Kilmer decided to become an entrepreneur and combine it with her passion for embroidery. She started embroidering for her baby’s clothes, then with her family and friends, and finally opened her online business embroidering on textiles such as shirts, trousers, and even shoes. Lizet was inspired by her children to start her own business. She lives in Masaya, Nicaragua and has two children. As inspiration and thanks to her skills and her husband’s, they started with “Little Shoes”. They handcrafted shoes for newborns and infants.

Andrea’s story as a pastry chef began in 2020 when an unexpected and critical diagnosis of cancer struck her family and breadwinner.

Andrea decided to quit her job as she was threatened by her employer due to her need to work from home and take care of her husband. That is when Andrea decided to unite the family tradition; a special legacy inherited from her grandmother; and the need to be able to generate income from home by creating and selling cakes.

Kenia started this business in 2018, after she was fired from her job due to the socio-economic situation in the country. «At first I took it as a therapeutic way to distract my mind because I was going through the loss of my daughter in January of that same year.»

Juanita wis bringing fresh fruit and vegetables to her community in a pop-up van. Her community, Xiloá, is 3 hours away from the nearest market, traveling by foot and by bus.

“My community has no electricity and we only get water 3 times a week. We are isolated. I want to change this and build a better future for my family and help my neighbours get good, healthy food. Otherwise, nothing will get better,”

Yaima has a variety of flats ready to rent. She started more than 10 years ago to be together with her two children and at the same time guarantee the education of her children as a single mother. Today she has different lots and spaces for different budgets in Managua, Nicaragua.
